Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026

1. The short version

Sifter is local-first software. It runs in your environment, and your prompts, code, and provider API keys never reach Olmsted AI. The product contains no telemetry and does not phone home to us. The personal data we handle is limited to what you submit on the trial form and what our service providers process to sell and license the software.

2. What we collect and why

  • Trial requests: work email, company name, and seat count, submitted on the trial form. Used to issue your license file, prevent duplicate trial abuse, and (rarely) contact you about your trial. Lawful basis: performing the contract you requested.
  • Purchases: handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details, billing address, and tax information under Paddle's Privacy Policy; Olmsted receives your email, product, and seat quantity to issue the license, never your payment details.
  • Licensing: license records (email, company, seats, expiry) are stored with Keygen, our licensing provider. License verification by the Software happens locally against a file on your machine; the Software does not contact Keygen to serve your traffic.
  • Website and trial endpoint logs: our site and trial endpoint are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request metadata to serve and protect them. The trial endpoint stores a salted hash of email and IP briefly for rate limiting; the hash expires automatically within minutes.
  • Support email: if you write to us, we keep the correspondence. Diagnostic files produced by sifter doctor are redacted by design (secrets removed, payloads omitted) before you ever see or send them.

3. What we do not collect

No prompts, no code, no tool outputs, no provider API keys, no usage telemetry, no analytics cookies. The website sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. The Software makes requests only to the model provider you configure.

4. Service providers

Paddle (merchant of record and payments), Keygen (license management and release distribution), and Cloudflare (website and trial-endpoint hosting). Each processes data under its own privacy terms and our agreements with them. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except as required by law.

5. Retention

Trial and license records are kept while your license is active and for up to 24 months afterward for tax, audit, and abuse-prevention purposes. Rate-limit hashes expire within minutes. Support correspondence is kept as long as useful for support history.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at help@olmsted-ai.com. Deletion requests are honored except where retention is legally required (for example, Paddle's tax records). If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority; our lawful bases are contract performance (licensing, trials) and legitimate interest (abuse prevention, security logging).

7. International transfers

Our providers operate globally; data they process may be stored in the United States and other jurisdictions under their standard safeguards.

8. Changes

Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
